Lydia had been laying in bed for what felt like hours, simply doing nothing but staring up at the ceiling. This was what her life had become. She went to school, came home, and waited for the guards to call her with another assignment. She had been enduring more pain daily than most people could stand in their lifetime. There was an upside, of course. The guards gave her an entire bottle of painkillers to take home with her. It was another manipulation tactic. They had given it to her one day when Lydia was being particularly defiant and refusing to push anymore of her friends away. She had already told Stiles and Allison she didn’t want to see them anymore- enough was enough. Somewhere in the back of Lydia’s messed up mind she knew that this was manipulation but Lydia was too out of energy to fight back. All she wanted to do was sleep. Unfortunately, she was interrupted by the sound of someone banging on her front door. She rolled her eyes dramatically and ran downstairs to answer it, not expecting to see Jackson outside. “Jackson? Is everything okay?”
