ooc: Please you guys. I need you to look at this art. Everything takes me 100 years so idk when I'll get done but I'm working on it bit by bit. His "helm" is finally done.

Imbert's armour is also a family heirloom. Passed down by the Dragon Riders in his family.

The armour is called L'ange de la Mort or The Angel of Death.

Fun fact: Imbert is NOT a Rider as his Grandfather passed before he was old enough to take up the mantle and thus the name was retired.

So now he's just a big scary angel faced murderer.

INFO ON THE MAN

Imbert grew up in a noble house, to 2 noble families. His grandfather in his mother's side, and the men before him, have been Dragon Riders as long as there have been Dragon Riders.

(he's learning about the true history of the riders right now in his story and when he comes to terms with that we'll update here)

His grandfather died when he was 10. Unless a successor is named upon death the Dragon is culled after the passing of the Rider. So no dragon for him.

He grew up thinking he'd still have a chance to be one, but despite his hard work he was never chosen for the Rider, his rival and ex @knightdraconis , surpassing him in rank and becoming a Rider thanks to family money moving hands. (Though she is unaware that's the case.)

He has been a knight now for nearly 20 years.

In his youth he was happy to be sent into battle, to prove himself and his skill. This is where he earned his name, Beast. He will kill indiscriminately and without remorse, everyone dies and if that's by his hand so be it.

In his older age, he often is ordered to stand in the King's court. A terrifying visage, a grim reminder of the power of his king through his command over, The Beast.

As time moves on, younger knights take his place. Though the stone face and cold of his armour strike fear in the hearts of those who remember, his inactivity in the field at the behest of his king has made him not more than a boogeyman to the people of Geddon. He was not quiet about the dust he had started to collect.

In an attempt to placate the knight, he was sent to the edge of the kingdom, to the small village of Key, to investigate an uptick in disappearances. However things in Key were not as mundane as they seemed on the surface.

The mayor was bed ridden, the steward running things in his stead, Eadhelm, was unhelpful and frankly suspect. There is a wall in the woods, he was warned against venturing further than, and when he did, the men he was with were killed by the man Eadhelm, who turned out to be a changeling Rancent.

The rest, they say, is history.

It's definitely gonna be a WIP to get the whole thing done.

I saw someone make a paper doll of their knight, and I think that will be the easier way for me to build his armour.

⚔️ Well recently, in an interesting turn of events, I was introduced to the King of the Trickster Court. Though our first meeting was less than amicable, not for his lack of trying, we have grown quite close in the last few days. We share a deep affection for the changeling and he is still young in his kinghood, it has been a small comfort to accompany him as a knight, as well as a friend.

⚔️ To completely honest, until recently, I didn't have much of a will for life. I had hoped I would die in battle before this. Things have changed my perspective.

I recently met a real dragon. A hatchling and still far more intelligent than the beasts we call mounts. I should like to meet an elder, as the young one said, upon the completion of our task at hand. I have many questions about the original Riders.

⚔️ There was a time in my youth where I thought it could have been a possibility, I have put that behind me however. I am 40 this year, and have devoted more than half of those years to the crown. I am not opposed to the idea of marriage I just do not find it necessary in our current arrangement. I don't think biologically we can have children... I find children respond well to me, that comes across very clinical , but it is to say they are often not afraid to speak with me. I do have a soft spot for their carefree view of the world and their curiosity. And yes, I believe that is the goal, when our journey is complete. When we've accomplished our goal, I will "settle down" with them as kings.

I'm not tagging Rancent in this one... He will find it anyway.
