The headquarters’ state-of-the-art automated thermostat system breaking isn’t that big of a deal. Yes, it feels like it’s below freezing, and yes, it’ll only get fixed tomorrow because L’s a paranoid maniac who enabled three-factor authentication for his goddamn heating system, but there’s plenty of extra blankets in all the unused bedrooms and so after a disarmingly fun break to drag an adequate amount back to the main floor and wrap themselves appropriately, the task force continued with business as usual until everyone either left or turned in for the night.

YAY I'M GLAD!!! i am in fact horrifically spoiled for the jdrama u_u i will put the spoilers i know under a cut. however i don't think the ones i'm aware of will affect my enjoyment whatsoever lmao i kind of prefer being spoiled sometimes

i love mikami and misa so much??? even though mikami's only showed up once so far asjfdkhgkasd but okay i think. im still only two episodes in i haven't watched any more in the time i was away but a lot of the jdrama so far revolves around this concept of like, protecting other people, and there's a very Chivalrous vibe to it (which was also there in the manga to be fair but it was way more complicated there. god complex martyr complex sunk cost fallacy so on and so forth whereas drama light's vibe so far seems to just entirely be I Will Kill These Bad People To Protect The Good Ones) which is usually geared towards yknow men protecting women (tm). which makes it all the more interesting that light's first two kills are both to protect his guy friend and his dad, and that mikami seems to be moved by misa snapping for them to give her family back (…how did i just put together that of course he'd relate to that. fuck) and in general everyone in the world (mikami, light, yukida, probably gelus right im pretty sure that was gelus) seems to want to Protect Misa Amane. but misa! is rightfully terrified by yukida saying he wants to protect her! misa hits him in the face when he gets too close and he retaliates by almost killing her! and sayu, of course, when soichiro is kidnapped, doesn't cry in fear or anything but demands someone go kill otoharada kuro (sayu misa parallel… the adaptations love them). like theres something here idk about chivalry being a twisted concept that serves yourself more than it does your loved ones, something about how none of these people asked to be protected, something about how despite the narrative attempting to shove them into those roles both drama sayu and misa emphatically refuse the damsel in distress archetype. is this anything. i still have nine fucking episodes jesus christ
