ā”&ā ļø for claude n el pwease šš
I hope these are okay. I found theĀ ā ļø a lot harder to write than I thought it would be, but it was a fun exercise.Ā
Claude:
ā” Claude may put on the facade of a charming prince, but as the embodiment of mistrust, he never really lets anyone close to him. Which is why he is so surprised when he realizes he has fallen in love. And he falls hard, like head over heels hard. He never lets on, but damn does his heart skip a beat every time he looks at his loved one. But once he confesses, and realizes they return his feelings, that dam just burst wide open. Words of praise and devotion fall from his lips, and his hands always reach out to touch; sometimes for more intimate pleasures, but mostly just to reassure himself theyāre there, that they chose him, and his heart aches with how much he loves them. Itās never more than they want, he is too conscious of the possibility of chasing them away. Claude loves with his whole heart, and for once, he doesnāt wear a mask to hide it from the world.
ā ļø Claude will kill with a smile. He has trained for years to keep his cool in battle, and sometimes that breaks whenever he sees a friend injured. But thatās not anger. Thatās worry. No, when Claude is truly angry it never shows. He keeps that smile in place, all the while plotting a downfall. And he will bring them down, you can be sure of that. Claude knows his dreams are so much bigger than petty revenge, knows that he could be putting them at risk to go after one person, but that doesnāt stop him from folding that revenge into his plans. Sure, heāll keep using someone while theyāre still useful to further those dreams, but that doesnāt mean theyāll be useful forever.
Edelgard:
ā” Edelgard is a disaster. Oh, she can keep herself together when there are other things to focus on, such as dismantling the Church that has hurt so many people. But in the quiet moments of night, whenĀ she finds herself between tasks, her mind will wander to her loved one. Hubert always knows, because Edelgard is so terrible at hiding a blush. The first time she actually goes out of her way to spend time with her loved one, Edelgard turns into a stuttering mess and runs away. Once she calms down, she is incredibly ashamed. Yes, she gets a bit flustered around them sometimes, but never when theyāre discussing things like strategy and politics. When she actually tries to initiate a romantic moment herself, she just ends up flailing. And it never stops. Even after they have been together for years, El still canāt help blushing whenever she asks for a kiss.
ā ļøĀ The longer the war goes on, the more Edelgard finds it difficult to maintain a grasp on herself. With more magic of TWSITD twisting her body, her mind starts to slip. Itās even worse if Byleth isnāt there to bring her back from that dark edge. Edelgard lashes out, her calculating coolness turning to rage. And afterward, well that really is the worst. She feels just like a child again, locked in that dark room, afraid and hopeless. Anger turns to fear, and as much as she wants to rid the world of those who harmed it so much, that terrible fear, all stemming from an anger she cannot understand, well, it begins to rule her.
