A Jayhoon short AU wherein Jay and Sunghoon in one band. They have been friends for years but... is it really just... friends?

Sunghoon and Jay have been friends for as long as they can remember. What binds them is their shared love for music.

Eventually, they decided to form a band named The Night, where they could express their feelings and thoughts through music. Jay is the guitarist, while Hoon is the vocalist. Despite having little knowledge about the guitar (probably because he's from the band), he still struggles with plucking.

While practicing "Hopelessly Devoted to You" alone, Jay, with his cola in hand, entered the scene and saw Hoon struggling with the next plucking pattern. With heavy sighs, he sat beside Hoon.

"What did I tell you about plucking?"

Sunghoon stared at the man to whom he dedicated this song.

It hasn't been long since Hoon admitted to himself that he likes his best friend.

'Fuck yeah... and over my dead body will I admit it to this dork.'

"I know, not that I'm going to play it though, just practicing how to pluck the damn cho—"

"You always talk too much, Hoon."

And just like magic, everything in the background faded. All he could hear was his heart rumbling inside his chest and the plucking of the guitar while Jay... Jay was at his back, holding his hand to guide him. Hoon felt like he was about to throw up, butterflies gone wild.

"My head is sayin', 'Fool, forget him,'" Jay started to sing. Hoon didn't know what to do.

"Hmm? Sing with me, Sunghoon," Jay's hoarse voice echoed through his system.

But as much as he wanted to, he couldn't. There was something in his throat that prevented him from doing so.

"Next time, ask me—" Hoon flinched when Jay's lips touched his earlobe.

"Yeah dude, screw you. I'm a vocalist," he stood up, went to the door, about to storm out, but before he opened it, Jay spoke.

"I know you felt it too." A smirk was plastered on Jay's lips.
