@goobersforlife this is sort of propaganda, sort of a lore dump
I decided to do a rough drawing from above of what Draxum's lab sort of looks like in the GMTT au. I don't actually know/remember what shape his lab is, but for the sake of this drawing I'm assuming it's circular lol.
So, Draxum does not, in fact, let the turtles have free range in his lab because there's no way that would end well lol. He keeps them in an enclosure that takes up maybe a third to half of the lab, to make sure they have room to roam. It's probably got glass walls, or maybe enchantments that are see through? In either case Draxum would have had to jury rig it fairly quickly lol.
The enclosure is more or less rectangular, with some cut out areas along the back corners for better observation. The walls are mostly solid, barring an access tray at the front that Draxum uses to give them food and whatnot. The access tray is also built into or nearby a door (not marked in the diagram). Inside the enclosure, the access tray is positioned over the sunning area, a large flat space with a heat lamp above it.
To the left of the enclosure, about two thirds of the space, is dry ground, with a decent amount of obstacles/decorations so that the turtles have more of an environment to interact with. There's a few large logs (or log shaped objects) for them to climb on, which they generally enjoy squabbling over. There's also a tent-like formation for the turtles to hide in that they like to sleep in, on, or around.
The last third of the enclosure, on its right side, is a sort of artificial pond. Very useful since three of the four turtles are naturally aquatic, not so great if Draxum wants to run an experiment on one of them (he does not like getting wet lol). Either this part of the enclosure is deeper than the rest to allow for the water, or the whole thing is somewhat raised, I haven't decided yet.
So yeah, that's the GMTT's home lol
