A while ago, my pc frequently ran chkdsk when booting on my HDD (windows is installed on my SSD). I thought, no big deal, bought&installed a new HDD, copied my stuff, and disconnected the old one (wisely not taking it out yet) - No Operating System found. I fixed it by reinstalling windows, again, on the SSD, formatting it in in the process. Sad, but that's why I have two hard drives :x

i'm. a little confused on the language you're using here. a solid state drive is a hard disk drive, just a different kind of hard disk drive.
anywho basically what happened here was that your old hard drive was shitty and bad and kept saving things wrong. chkdsk went through and went "oh, crap, stuff got saved wrong, let me go try to fix it."
you were super in the right by replacing your drive! however. when you're installing a fresh, new drive you can't just copy files from one drive to another - this would make operating system piracy a Much Bigger Thing. unfortunately you have to do a clean install of the operating system of your choice before sticking any sort of data on it.
(i'm assuming that's not the course of action you took, based on the fact that it gave you an OS not found error: do keep in mind that i just got off work an hour ago and i'm tired and it's very likely that my reading comprehension sucks. feel free to tell me to shut up.)

well, at least it happened within the 2 year warranty (do you have that where you live?) - my asus laptop broke a few days after the warranty ran out - in the end they “repaired” it for free but it broke after 2 weeks again.
if i did get a warranty when i bought it the paperwork is long since thrown away honestly i'm not that beaten up about it? i'm willing to save up and dish out the cash for something that meets my (current, higher octane) needs. i'm just kinda frustrated because school is expensive and in december i helped my mom replace her laptop and i'm not getting as many hours at work lately due to payroll cuts
no blog has, or ever will, put so many beauties on my dashboard as this one.
