in a few weeks im graduating and while thats great and something ive struggled with achieving for the last 8 years the issue is that i’m overly scared of what comes next.
I’ve told my parents something about me going to university to study Archivist stuff and history.
But i feel like thats such a me move, because its not because i really want to but because i a) think thats the right move and b) i have my entire life been at school, elementary school, high school, college, the only times i wasnt was when i was a baby and those two years i was working after dropping out of college.
so university feels like me just pushing to have some goal for the next 3-4 years and push this uncomfortable question away from me.
The issue also arises with work. Under my current situation i cant get paid more than a certain amount or i’ll lose my disability benefits which once i move out i will absolutely need to you know...live.
but that creates a scenario where i cant just apply for a job like a “normal” person but rather would have to go through a social worker which is demeaning to say the least.
Only way to escape that cycle would be to get a job that pays more than my benefits and just opt out of them which isnt impossible but again it would still require me either going through a social worker or going to a job and having to explain the situation with a new employer.
Maybe im making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Maybe i should go back to my old job (its literally a workshop for disabled people, where we put salt in saltshakers among other things, its run by the state)
But again that creates a certain comfort zone and i feel like im just making up excuses??
I don’t need a career, i just need a job to you know live off of and im sure i’d be fine.
