“Come on!” you drug Changkyun by his arm, and he laughed as he was pulled along toward the lighted displays. They had the park all strung up in lights, trees in various shining colors, little plastic light-up figures, nativities, and more. You’d begged him to bring you, despite the chilly night, and he relented, seeing how excited you were about it.

You both bundled up and headed out, and at the entrance of the park you already couldn’t contain yourself. Something about Christmas lights brought out the child in you, and the way Changkyun’s face lit up as he watched you, told you he enjoyed it as well.

He grabbed your hand and threaded your gloved fingers together, walking by your side and listening intently as you pointed out things you liked.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” you asked, and he was silent for a moment. You turned to catch him smiling softly at you.

“I know you’re gonna say something cheesy about me being beautiful, right?” you asked, and he laughed.

“I was, but I guess you already knew that”

“You can tell me again” you nudged him, and he tugged on your arm, bringing you closer.

“You’re beautiful”

His voice changed when he said it, lost all its humor and came out sincere and gentle. Even when you were expecting it, it made you blush.

You kept on walking, and came upon a small wood stand with garland and white lights, topped by a handmade sign indicating they sold hot beverages. You gave Changkyun a look and he already knew what you wanted. You stood in line, and once under the wood canopy of the stand, he ordered you two hot chocolates.

When they placed the warm coffee cups into his hands, he turned to you, his eyes trailing up for a moment. He then smiled and leaned in, pecking you on the lips.

You gave him a look as he handed over your drink, tilting your head curiously. He motioned up with his chin.

You followed, looking up at the mistletoe hanging off the booth and grinned, giving him one back.
