My God it is so difficult to find the perfect in-between when writing Snatcher-
How the PECK am I supposed to balance "murderous jerk who kills anyone who enters his domain mercilessly and isn't adverse to CHILD MURDER" and "severely traumatized victim of abuse who has had their world views turned upside down and is (literally) a shadow of their former self"
Like I have a really hard time finding that perfect balance
On one hand I don't want to make him a pathetic "woe is me and my tragic backstory" character
But on the other hand I don't want to make him an unsympathetic asshole who just murders for the sake of murder
I am aware that I'm not the best at writing
But unless I'm writing from HIS POV I can't figure out how to balance those traits
