Okay here’s my take on the whole Violetta vs Soy Luna thing. Violetta will always be closer to my heart because I started watching it the summer before 7th grade. I was kinda depressed ngl. I knew I loved to sing and I even wrote some songs, but I wasn’t that good of a singer and my songs were just me writing down words in an old journal and singing them out loud without any intstrument. After watching Violetta I wanted to reinvent myself. I started taking Piano lessons and started writing legit songs. I dressed better and started straightening my hair (it used to be a frizzy mess in a bun). I started feeling better about myself and I started being more optimistic. Basically, in a way Violetta changed my life. The music was great, the characters I loved, and the romances got me very excited. Then I heard about Soy Luna a couple years later, but the first season had just come out so I couldn’t watch full episodes yet. I remember spending a whole day watching clips on YouTube and I was instantly obsessing over Lutteo. The music was great in Soy Luna too and the competitions are always fun to watch. I ended up actually watching the complete series last year and obviously became obsessed. What really made me obsessed was Lutteo. I have to admit that there were scenes I really didn’t care to watch so I fast forwarded through them (like the scenes with the adults in them or Tino and Cato). Soy Luna was better developed and more realistic I think, but I liked the concept of Violetta better. I liked the music school concept, they just could’ve done better in certain aspects. For example, the love triangles got old so quickly. Like JUST CHOOSE A GUY OMG. She kept going back and forth and it made me angry. In soy Luna, we got a little of that but not too much, so it was perfect. I can’t really say which one I think is better because I love both of them so much. I mean, I wanted to be Violetta back in 7th grade (and I still do 😬 ) but Soy Luna just uplift my mood so much and it makes me wanna follow my dreams ya know? Both were amazing shows, they were just different. I truly think that if you didn’t grow up with it though it doesn’t feel the same.
