田代島は、宮城県石巻沖に浮かぶ離島で、島の人口より猫の数の方が多いとも言われる猫の島です。 6年前の今日、2011年3月11日にこの島にも激しい揺れと恐ろしい津波が襲いました。この島で平和に暮らしていた猫たちも犠牲になりました。 今でもこの島には震災を生き延びた猫たち、そして震災のあとに生まれた猫たちが暮らしています。 彼らの平安がいつまでもつづきますように。猫の安らかな暮らしは、人間にとっても希望となる気がしているのです。 ♬上を向いて歩こう／坂本 九 Tashirojima Island is a remote island off the Ishinomaki of Miyagi Prefecture in Tohoku district, a cat island that is said to have more cats than the population of the island. Today, 6 years ago, on 11 March 2011 a violent earthquake and a terrible tsunami also hit this island. The cats who lived peacefully on this island were also sacrificed. Even now, on this island cats surviving the disaster, and cats born after the disaster live. I hope their peace will last forever.
