The book is heart wrenching and heart breaking, especially the end. It's written very simply but it's very powerful and cried several times (I never cry while reading books). It is sad but gorgeous and I will definitely reread it again, it has become my new religion

DESPITE WHAT EVERYONE SAYS, I think it's obvious that Patroclus is a bottom. I mean: he DOES NOT LIKE fighting, HE HEALS and BECOMES KNOWN FOR HEALING, he is CONTENT to watch Achilles be the best at everything and is chill with that, plus in tsoa I think Achilles starts every intimate interaction (apart from the first kiss at the beach). And yes, I KNOW THAT ACHILLES DISGUISED HIMSELF AS A GIRL but that's because THETIS FORCED HIM

DESPITE BEING A BOTTOM, PATROCLUS IS SUPER MANLY! He STOOD ON HIS KNEES and BEGGED Achilles, WHILE CRYING, to go back to battle! He goes to fight FOR Achilles when Achilles refuses (stupid bitch, did he not realise Patroclus would die!?!) and when he's about to be killed by Hector his last thought is how ACHILLES would feel when he finds out that Patroclus is dead.

I find it extremely ironic that both Achilles and Patroclus did not even think that Patroclus would die first, that Achilles would WANT death to be by his lover's side. In the book Patroclus states several times that he will die AFTER Achilles dies.
