This is a touchy subject. I don't want to get anyone into trouble, and if the administration finds this blog, they'll probably demand that it be shut down, especially after this post. I don't want that, and neither do you. 

LVPA has an undeniable drug problem. Artsy people tend to gravitate toward mind-enhancing drugs. I do NOT have a problem with drug experimentation outside of school at all. It's your life, you do with it what you want. However, you don't want to be the kid who's stupid enough to get high before school and get caught, causing others to get in trouble as well. I am defining drugs as substances like weed, heroin, cocaine, meth, pills and alcohol. I have personally seen multiple multiple people come to school high and/or drunk. They got caught. I also want to point out that if someone doesn't like you and you come to school high or drunk, they will most likely rat you out, so keep that in mind. Possession of drugs, being under the influence of drugs, or the sale of drugs (be it weed, pills, hardcore drugs, or alcohol) is a level 5 infraction, which will result in an immediate 10 day suspension, a conference with your parents, and an expulsion hearing. Most people don't know that the consequences for drugs in school are that serious. 

Coming to school high is stupid. It may seem like something cool to do, "Man, I'm so high." In reality, you're jeopardizing everyone you talked to that day. Seriously. Plus, your belongings will be searched, and there will probably be a lockdown and the drug dogs will be brought in. Coming to school drunk is even more stupid. I've seen kids pour alcohol into their morning coffee from WaWa, bring vodka in a water bottle, even straight-up from a flask. Being drunk is even more visible than being high, and people will notice. It's not even fun to be drunk during school. All you do is sit in class drunk. It's stupid. Don't do it during school. You want to get drunk or high outside of school? Fine, that's on you, just don't do it in school. 

On a smaller, but still serious note, smoking regular cigarettes is pretty bad, too. If you're an upperclassman, you've seen the smokers on their curb outside of the back parking lot and outside of WaWa. The reason they smoke there is because if you're caught smoking on school property or even being in possession of cigarettes or a lighter on school property, it's a level 4 infraction which involves an immediate 10 day suspension. School property includes the parking lot, the physical school building, the side parking lot, and the front lawn. 

having cigarettes on your person (even a lighter or matches in your bag) can get you suspended for 10 days. Regardless of your intended purpose. It could be used for arson, therefore suspension. Welcome to administrative regulations. Be careful, and never give people a reason to search your bag. 

Not trying to preach, just watch your back, be smart, and no one will get hurt.
