Anderson Ferry, Nationally Registered US Historic Site . Operating continuously since 1817–more than 200 years—the Anderson Ferry is a bit of an institution along the Ohio River. . It was a treat and a half to ride across the Ohio River again on this ferry. It was damp, chilly, and breezy but I wandered all over the ferry the whole way across, taking videos and photographs and just soaking it in. . Swipe for pics. Some vid in stories, too, tho my connection sucked so couldn’t upload much today. . The gal working the deck came back to let the chain down when we got close to the Kentucky side and said the Captain was intrigued by my trailer. I gave her a Roaddude card to give him and said next time I come through I’d be pleased to tell him all about it and show him a mess of images of it set up. . Being ferried across a great river like the Ohio on such a cool open vessel, watching rugs and long barges go by from water level was a definite highlight for me. . Now I’m itching to go across again, hopefully around sunrise or sunset, and will interview both Captain and crew. . Huge thumbs up 👍🏼! . Where should I go next? I got stuck in the storm and it’s now past, so I can go to the Townsend TN and Smokies then Nantahala and Chatahoochee Forests, or head towards Nashville and Memphis to see what kind of trouble I can stir up. . . #andersonferry #ohioriver #roaddudephotos #wheretonext #ilivetoexplore #exploreamerica #rivers #riversofamerica #nationalhistoricsite #nationalregisterofhistoricplaces #akubra #cattlemanbluegrassgreen #ferry #riverferry #traveltheusa #letsgosomewhere #letsgetlost #historic #staypositivemyfriends #vanlife #solotravel #xventurefamily #xventuring #trailerlife #ferries #adventurist #explorer #expeditionunknown #wanderingphotographers #thumbsup #idratherbecamping (at Anderson Ferry) https://www.instagram.com/p/BqOB-dMBodf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=a9nbxmp7pw7j
