Body odour. jkr always tries to make him seem ugly (joke’s on her, I’m into that) but she doesn’t say he smells, and hanging around so many potion ingredients you’d expect him to be smelly but apparently he isn’t. Although it’s less of an appearance thing - he uses smell to identify how a potion is going so he tries to make himself as odourless as possible.

38. How do you think Snape spent his early childhood days?

Very quietly, because he didn’t want to anger his father. He only spoke up to defend his mother. He liked to make potions out of mud and sticks. He played on his own a lot. His mother was his best and only friend until Lily came along.

42. Do you think Snape cried often?

I'm always happy to write for Shunsui, he makes some of the best fluff I swear 😭 I wasn't sure how to go with this prompt at first, but I was inspired by maybe the potential conversation of them working their feelings out? I hope that's okay! I had a lot of fun with the prompt, and I hope you like how it turned out!

It was obvious to the entirety of the Soul Society how much you and Shunsui had feelings for each other. Hell, it was obvious to both of you as well—it’s not like you did much to hide it.

You couldn’t keep track of the sheer amount of times over the years that Ukitake suggested to both of you, as gently as he could, that maybe it was time to go on a date and talk about what you meant to each other. You could laugh each time Lisa in the past had told you both to get a room (and then promptly ask for details after) or at Nanao to roll her eyes whenever you two flirted in front of her when you both should’ve been doing work.

You both had been friends for many years, the feelings growing and evolving into something more as the time passed on—something that was unspoken and remained so. You couldn’t tell if your unwillingness to actually sit down and label your relationship was because neither of you wanted to fold first in some sort of flirty game, or if there was some sort of hidden fear that you both would ruin what you have.

“Hello beautiful,” Shunsui took a seat next to you, placing his straw hat on the table you were working at “You’re stunning when you’re so deep in thought, you know?”

“Oh? Am I, Captain?” You asked playfully, shooting him your softest smile.

He chuckled, “Sure are. You thinking about anything special? Or…someone special, even, princess?” He smiled back at you, giving you a playful wink.

You couldn’t help but play along, maybe it was the best chance you could have to bring the thoughts that had been slowly eating at you in recent time. “I am in fact. I’m thinking about this guy I know.”

Shunsui cocked his eyebrow, “A guy, huh? Wanna tell me about him?” He rested his arm on the table, leaning his head onto his hand as he stared at you, grey eyes sparkling like pure silver.

“Hmm, well this guy and I have been friends for a while, but it’s pretty obvious we have something together. I mean we flirt a LOT. Thing is though, we’ve never actually gone on a date or talked about our relationship, and I’d like to.”

“Isn’t that a shame. If I was this guy, I would think the same thing, and that it’s about time to talk about it after all these years, maybe over a nice cup of sake? What do ya say?” The way he asked was so casual and effortlessly, it made you wonder if he had similar thoughts as you.

“I would love that.”

It was always a nice treat to wake up in Beckman's arms. Large, thick muscles wrapped gently around your waist, his deep and gentle breathing tickling the nape of your neck, your legs tangled together, and the blanket you two had shared long discarded on the floor. He made you feel so small and delicate when he held you, so warm and protected—like there was nothing else in the world but you and him in this room. You turned your head to admire him; long silver hair tousled loosely on his rugged and handsome face. He looked so peaceful while resting; not the usual somewhat calm expression he always carried, this was different. You smiled as you traced his sharp jawline, making your way up to the scars that decorated his face. Beckman hummed, his face twitching at your delicate touches. "Good mornin' to you too, beautiful." He muttered, voice deeper and huskier from sleep, his arms pulling you even closer against him. You giggled, "Good morning handsome. Should we get up and ready to go? Shanks said he had an idea of the next island he wanted to stop at." Beckman's eyebrow raised, his eyes still closed as he let out a long, breathy groan. "Nah, he can wait a while. Don't really feel much like getting up when my gorgeous wife is here, all warm in my arms." You threaded your fingers through his, the feeling of callouses and worn down skin scratching your hands, and the soft clink of your wedding rings tapping together. You couldn't help but agree with him—Shanks could wait a little while longer before the next island.
