Auroville is an experimental township, where people from some 50 nations from all walks of life live together as residents representing humanity as a whole, and as its website say 'it is a universal city in the making dedicated to the ideal of human unity - in diversity based on the vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.' The life here is simple and maybe 'unconventional' for people like us who are always in some race whether with one another or with oneself. Life here is about sustainable living, cultural, environmental, social and spiritual needs of mankind. The centre of the township is the Peace Area, where Matrimandir and its famous Banyan Tree in the gardens are located. Fortunately, we were able to get a pass to visit the Inner Chambers of Matrimandir where one is able to experience utmost peace and even meditate.
