deep brown eyes stared at the phone screen in surprise, the rapper taking the time to read the brief message a few times more just to ensure that she had read the text correctly the first time. [ meet me out back ] was displayed clearly in black font, risa finally registering the words her boyfriend had sent her merely minutes prior. of course, curiosity sets in. they had spoken on the phone earlier that morning, nothing out of the usual. however, the woman couldn’t recall zhihao saying anything or even hinting on the matter that he would come by later that day. not that she minded if the smile growing on her lips was any indication.

the moment she had scurried out of his apartment, risa knew she had fucked up. not only did she sleep with her best friend, but she had left the next morning without saying a word. thinking back on it, it was all a blur honestly. they shared drinks and talked for hours like old times. some words were said and confessions were made. before she knew it, she had woken up in his arms -- the both of them in his bed, bare underneath the sheets. risa had to stop herself from freaking out, not wanting to wake up the man beside her nor wanting to deal with the awkward questions and recollections on what happened merely hours before. it wasn’t until her cell phone began vibrating like crazy under their scattered clothes that urged her to move from his hold (although she did enjoy the security), and procure her phone before it awoke zhihao. glancing at the time, she realized it was already 9 am in the morning causing her eyes to shoot wide open. she had a schedule in an hour and her manager was going crazy looking for her. after making some excuse that she was staying at a friend’s house and lost track of time (which wasn’t a total lie), risa quickly redressed herself and left the premises in a hurry -- reminding herself to call zhihao later to explain what had happened.

but she never did.

rumors had been flying around the past few days that the zhen was finally returning to south korea and preparing for his long-awaited comeback after a long hiatus. at first, risa didn’t believe the rumors though she wouldn’t know anymore about it herself. they had finally spoken for the first time in three years just a few months ago and most recently, a few weeks ago after the younger male’s mother had passed away. because the soloist was still in morning, risa had assumed that zhihao would have stayed overseas a bit longer being the private and reserved person he was. so suddenly hearing that he was going back to work, it stranglely unnerved the rapper.

knowing well enough that she shouldn’t even try to go see zhihao herself, risa stayed put in the comfort of the dorm she shared with her members but concentrated on the cellular device that laid in her grip. for the past hour or so, the rapper debated whether she should contact zhihao or not -- the older worried over how zhen was handling the media as they were practically stepping on his heels every moment they got. before she could even make up her mind, her phone rested against her ear ringing -- suddenly startled when she heard a familiar voice sounding on the other end of the line. “zhihao... are you alright?”
