longer not-really-a-poem-but-im-not-sure-if-its-prose-either under cut
"I" am whole, yet "I" am empty.
A deep sense of longing. An indescribable feeling. A form standing in the door. A shadow laying next to me. "I" am here, "I" am there. "I" use my right hand, the "mirror" turns left. "I" bow my head, the "mirror" scowls. "I" beg to be understood, the "mirror" makes a fist. "I" weep as I am not enough, the "mirror" has began to crack.
A mirror can not hold, it reflects. Meaning granted only by what is in front. A dirty mirror is no good, a broken mirror must be thrown out.
A mirror only exists to reflect. If it can not do so, it has no meaning to it's existence. Anything placed in front does not need a mirror to hold meaning.
A mirror can not deflect. What a mirror reflects is what is in front of it. Should the reflection in the mirror be unsightly, it can not blame what is not in the mirror.
A mirror can not hold. No matter what you see within a mirror, it can not be interacted with, as it does not exist within the mirror.

"I" pity a mirror. To live without holding, to depend on others to exist, to be discarded at uselessness or inconvenience. "I" fear becoming a mirror. "I" will prove I'm invaluable, "I" will keep my heart alive with "my" own will alone, "I" will hold, grasp, and embrace to my hearts content.
So "I" do not become a mirror, "I" will become the mirror's image. "I" will be the wrong so the mirror may be right. "I" will use my clumsy left, so the mirror may use it's skillful right. "I" will stand in front, so the mirror does not stop existing.
"I" do not remember what side of the mirror I stood on. "I" do not remember what side of the mirror I stand on. "I" do not remember how long the mirror has been here. "I" do not remember how long I have feared becoming a mirror. "I" do not remember. Neither does the mirror. Because mirrors can not hold, they can only reflect.
