Serious talk last night about not wanting to become like my father, but a few times when I have lashed out against Hunny over arguments that I took out of hand... *sigh* Trying so hard to not be like him... Especially for Hunny’s sake. 1 really interesting thing we were finally able to talk about... When I was curled up in a ball on the floor of the trailer and my dad was towering over me yelling and spraying spit, red in the face, and I looked up and saw Hunny come up to the doorway & freeze... I just saw the look of shock on his face, and he was in a stance, but I was sure he wouldn’t want to stay with me after seeing that, so I lowered my head back down between my knees and covered by my arms. Basically ready to die. The next thing I knew, Hunny was grabbing my shoulders - and I freaked out, not realizing it was him. My dad had left. How did that happen? What did I miss? Hunny told me last night that he heard the yelling as he was headed out there with my mom, and just ran so fast and without a thought that it felt like he bamfed there. He froze in the doorway at what he saw, and basically 1/2 snapped. He wanted to knock him out. He thought about what would happen if he flat out punched him, or threw him down the stairs, or anything. Well, my brother would have then gone after him in blind defense. Then my mom would have called the cops and everything would have just spiraled out from there. So he didn’t do anything, he just froze there.  But my dad had heard him come that far at least, and turned around. By then my mom was standing next to Hunny, also kind of in shock. Hunny said that he thinks my dad just kinda, saw all that [Hunny] was thinking right in his eyes, so my dad backed down. He just left. He just turned and walked out, walked back to the house. Hunny kicked back into gear and flew to my side.
