@ignitism , " i love watching russian traffic accidents on youtube while i play children’s music at the wrong rpm. " A pause, Idia now realizing his occasional tendency to overshare has just put him in an awkward situation once again. " my anxiety has kept me up for over 50 hours. " Nailed it. {@ Jack }
HE’S NOT SURE HOW TO FIX HIS FACE IN THAT MOMENT, the other was sharing what seemed to be a confession — a strange one at that. trying to maintain his usual stoic expression was becoming increasingly difficult the more that he spoke, as if adding on that he’d been awake for so long was going to make the situation any less painfully awkward. jack didn’t know a whole lot about the dorm he was from, with good reason too — they were known for being shut - ins, he hadn’t so much as shown his face at the entrance ceremony, so hearing him mumbling on about his odd habits, paired with a horrific sleep schedule; shock shouldn’t have come as easy as it did. the other didn’t look as if he slept, but for over two days was extreme. despite it all, this man was still his senior — meaning, he had to show him some form of respect; not genuine, for that had to be earned, but formalities were formalities. his family caused him to be accustomed to giving respect where it was due, regardless of personal opinion.
crossing his arms over his chest, he looked troubled. an improvement from the vaguely horrified look he was wearing seconds prior. it was not like the other had asked him to solve all of his issues for him, but it felt rude to simply brush it off. & neglect the fact that he was clearly struggling. that in itself should have been worrisome to most, though if he knew anything about his own housewarden: they were not so quick to accept a helping hand. judging off of rumors alone ( which, could have been wrong; flimsy & entirely incorrect ), jack wondered if any advice from him would have come off as demeaning — not only because of their age gap, but their clear difference in athleticism. his answer to all of his issues was to work out, but … idia. it was hard to say how he dealt with things, all that he knew for sure was that he did not often leave his room. never cared much for partaking in sports; the two were the least likely to be seen in similar places if he had to be honest about how they had truly never come to meet.
suggesting that he worked out would have been far too forward, blatantly rude — likely met with a distasteful reaction. so he went with something that was a bit less harsh. ❝ do you think that, uh … ❞ he almost was in disbelief of the conversation as he was having it, but there was no backing out now. ❝ it might be the kind of videos your watching? or even … the children’s music? ❞ there was no mistaking the way his voice strained when he finished his statement, desperately trying not to sound as if he were mocking him.
