     * Dorian is very particular about routine when he gets home and off work. First he takes off his shoes and lines them up neatly beside the door so he can slip back into them quickly. And then he takes off his badge and puts it on the hall table before he takes off his jacket. His holster comes next and he keeps that upstairs in his night drawer beside the bed and finally he showers to rid himself of the day. It’s always in this order and always done as soon as he walks inside.

     * Tuesday mornings are coffee mornings where he takes a little extra time in the morning to make himself a nice cup of coffee and enjoys it at home while he scrolls through his newsfeed on his phone

     * When at work Dorian is often prone to lingering around doors and talking with staff that isn’t related to his case so he can find out what is going on in the department. He likes to know everything about everyone but not get involved. He’s the type of guy to know what happened, when and where without even having been there because of his connections within the force.

They don’t have names, not with each other. Right now she only knows the other woman by the code name with which she’s painted herself, Red, like the blood they spill, the horrors that they paint upon white walls. It works for them, for their life and all that they’ve been put through hasn’t yet DRAINED THEM of the desire for humanity, to be close to others... perhaps they suffer from their own internal dilemma, wishing for people to reach out, but not knowing how to be close, they’ve both had their moments cast in sadness with which they don’t speak of, not even when they’ve drank, drank, and drank more at road stop hole in the walls, in the aftermath of a beautifully execution mission, when all they want to do is forget.

This isn’t like when she’s had lovers, playing house and pretend in shitty apartments in anonymous suburbs, it isn’t like travelling the world and making a name for oneself in the SHADOWS where enough money could buy you the head of anyone that you desired. They were crafted in the name of national security, forged, and made weaponized, but their handlers had done little to prepare themselves for what vengeance might yet met out against them should they turn... and turn they did, not to bite at a hand that fed them, but at one that held the leash, and, for what beauty freedom left them feeling, one still needed to make a living, after all.

Thus, the now, Sookhee crouched with narrowed eyes at the edge of a building, breathing through her mouth as she counts, measures, feels where their target is moving. “Are you in position?” lips BARELY MOVE, all concentration poured into the scope with which she aimed. “All is go from here.”
