#ignis 01

"ignis... how much is it that you are actually planning on buying?”gladio grunts out with a small grin, arms already holding two grocery bags full of produce. ignis wasn’t particularly known for impulsive spending habits, unless it came to food, naturally, but generally gladio didn’t have any complaints considering these sprees ended with his belly full and satisfied. 

he’s delighting in how light the air feels, how easy it is now, following him around this new city with our fear. the heaviness of insomnia isn’t missed, not in the slightest, and there’s a calm about them that hasn’t been felt in ages. a calm that’s allowed them to mourn, to rest, to finally just be. 

The fun thing about open-air theaters is that you could really just wander in. Sure there was an entrance and times you were or weren’t supposed to show up, but what were they going to do, stop him? Well, he supposed they couldn’t really do that in a regular theater either. But at a place like this, people came and went as they pleased pretty regularly.

Still, the group up there now was clearly still in rehearsal. The early stages, or at least he hoped so, for their sake. Someone had done their best to keep the snow brushed off the seating, and there were a few people scattered here and there, mostly talking with themselves rather than watching what seemed to be a cross between a dance number and a fight scene. Honestly, though, the dialogue was even worse.

He plopped down to watch. Nothing like watching people botch a performance worse than he had at the end there to cheer him up. His life was a farse, but he’d like to think the acting and choreography had been better.

This was... really really bad. He stifles a laugh with his glove, poorly. The man sitting closest to him, who hadn’t even been watching the mess on stage turns toward the sound.

This place fucking sucked. Maybe she could have tolerated the mysterious circumstances with which she was dropped here. She was pretty indifferent about that. Honestly, the idea of playing the game and finding an escape back to En’s manor even sounded kind of fun.

But why the hell did everything here have to be so... so... clean? 

And small. She felt like a bull in a china shop every time she entered some new little cafe or whatever with their charming bright lights and stupid friendly exterior. It sucked. Where was the grime? The unsavoryness? She had yet to find a place to eat that was as good as her and Shin’s favorite restaurant back home.

“What?! That much for a little pastry?” She snorted in indignation, nose pressed to the outside glass of a bakery that had caught her eye. “It doesn’t even look that good... who do they think they are... no way.”

Lucio looked over all the different treats in the glass display case before him, tapping his chin as he looked at them pensively.
