MaryMew recently did a live stream video on Youtube entitled "SIMS 3 64BIT UPDATE IS COMING FOR WINDOWS!?" Did you see it? She claims that EA is going to releasing an update for the Sims 3 again. Any Thoughts on that?
Morning Damien - Igazor from NRaas Industries was always ultra cynical about them ever doing this (no money to be made in it, so why bother?) and spent several months on the EA forum near shouting at people for suggesting it.
(Granted, a lot of it was down to people mistaking one for Mac cultists users only was going to be ported to PC ... those familiar with the saga of EA’s ‘beloved Mac folk’ ... ahahahahahahah! ... will of course remember this all being five years of false dawns too ...)
The sad part is the Big Knob of Nraas Mods/Twallan’s Mods is probably right.
There’s also the issue that people would be suspicious it wouldn’t be a trojan horse for EA sticking something else into our game for their own ends.
That this is all coming out the same time the hated Origin is being renamed EA Desktop App makes us very suspicious indeed - and we wouldn’t put it past them making a 64-bit update being conditional on playing via Origin, in which case thanks but no thanks.
Such is the legacy of breaking and borking, six years since EA effectively abandoned Sims 3 for the modders to sort, there’s zero trust in them.
This is something Sims 4 players tend to forget when they wonder why Sims 3 players sound so bitter, especially towards the Glitterturd. Many were the same when Sims 2 was abandoned and they refused to touch Sims 3 as a result - only to run to a pastelised Sims 2 rehash without a thought (’Oh joy, oh joy, EA loves us again!’)
EA needs to be treated with the cynicism it so richly deserves. They’ve never thrown us a cookie yet - only bait to reel us in.
