I just find it so creepy that one of the "throwbacks" shown side by side makes it look like Karen's peering into the upside down in one of the last shots of the show

Some knights just want to be picked up bridal style by their princesses
ALSO this fella...
was verrrry bored so i made a Gabriel version
i dont have the energy to make the meta now BUT before any leaks I want to say something; after reading again this amazing post about chapter 424, which explains too some Japanese staples and perspectives, I started thinking, could izu//ocha moments count as this intimate exchange of promises and reminding the other how great the other is?
And my conclusion is, well, not really, because the promise they made at the same time, and the memories that remind of it, are not to each other -they'll stop them, they say, but not even looking at each other. They look at the city, the ruins, and im guessing have different feelings about that conversation.
Ochako's promise was for the world? For Himiko? She went there to not think about her qualities, to force herself to see her as just a villain, and yet when the battle happens, all she wants is to go reach her even if others dont understand.
Izuku's promise was for the world? For Tenko? For both? The last chapters showed how, even if he wanted to do more to help and actually save, he is also angry about all the pain caused by the war, and keeps both emotions in his heart, more or less balanced.
Maybe this was just a promise to themselves, more than anything else.
After reading that post, it kind of just convinced me more to not see this moment as an izu///ocha moment, along with the flashbacks to it, as they are reminders of their respective goals and feelings towards villains, not towards each other.
I also started to think, maybe there was a bigger reason why Ochako didnt think at all about that scene in her fight -she was clear in her mission to get to Himiko, even with the struggles and miscommunication. Was Izuku 100% convinced about going to Tenko? This isnt bashing at all, but appreciating his complexity -he wants to save and have a happy ending for everyone, he is the most idealistic of them all, and will try to help everyone who needs it, but how can he help this person? The thoughts about all the hurt caused by him, even under AFO's influence, its a lot to handle, and he is a villain too. How can he help him truly, when he himself is in pain, confused, and mad?
Maybe the flashbacks can be interpreted as a way for him to remember there's a human in there, who is also lost, cries, and suffers, instead of the unstoppable monster that he wants to believe he is, and honestly, that Izuku did too when he lost his mind.
Idk, maybe this was obvious, but it makes me happier to have Ochako be there to support Izuku as his friend and hero, not because she is another love interest. She is crazy and different from him! Let her be like that!
