I think, it all ends and begins too quickly. One minute we’re standing on our own two feet, the next we’ve collapsed to our knees. But no one can tell the difference anymore. We blink and our grasp is no longer there. Or maybe we just wait around, hoping and wishing on all the same stars. Stars that were never ours to begin with. Maybe we missed each other. Maybe we could have been different. Maybe in another life, another time you would have been able to keep them, make them stay a little longer. Maybe we’re accustomed to always holding on, or to always letting go. Too soon, too late. Irony. The irony of this life. Maybe our dreams are too big, too intense, or maybe not. Maybe we try to make all the big moments small and small moments big. Maybe we should just be. Be here. Be still, for just one more second. Maybe we should hold on when we must and let go when we should. Maybe we should not be so nostalgic. We should not be yearning for the past so much, for a time other than here.
