His back was against the bench. His body curving with the slight curve of the wood as his small legs swung the best they could. James was off helping Jessie with whatever this poke-contest stuff entailed. To him, while there was a part of it that sounded fun and seemed appealing, there was another part of him (the part that spent time with Jessie) that felt he definitely didnât need that amount of stress in his life.
Stress was bad for the body. Especially a pokemonâs body! They were supposed to be pampered, werenât they? Where were the humans to brush his fur, massage his tired muscles, and make him feel like top cat? His arms crossed in a huff. Without having the humans there to entertain him, this sitting around was getting boring.
Normally he didnât mind sitting around and philosophizing, but the twerps were nearby. He had to sit tall. He had to make sure they didnât see him. If they did, then theyâd raise a ruckus, and Jessie and James could be discovered, and Jessie wouldnât be able to compete, and then theyâd have to listen to her dramatics.
So he had to remain at attention! He definitely couldnât fall asleep.
Nope. No falling asleep for this cat.
He leaned over just a bit in his sleep. Unfortunately, it was a bit too far in a bit of the wrong direction. He crashed to the ground with a thud and a rude awakening, âdatâs just about my luck....â
