top five primary genes?
let'sssss go
5.) Vipera
not alot to say, I just like it. enjoy the toothy effect and the way it carries the hypnotic pattern... looks better in neutral ranges than bright ones though
4.) Giraffe
really good!! but you don't see it that much. I definitely think it's underutilized, does really neat stuff with some colors and could make for some neat breeding pairs!
3.) Pinstripe
man the stuff pinstripe does with different colors... wonderful. absolutely stunning. that strong contrast is beautiful!! follows the form of the poses wonderfully. but it can be a little finicky to get it to work with different secondary colors, and tertiary genes. but when it works, it works
2.) Python
this was a really hard decision for 2nd/3rd with pinstripe but... python is really good and really versatile, but kind of average. it's beautifully neutral, nice and subtle but able to create some strong contrast. accessible and elegant, works for whatever you need
1.) Jaguar
it just slaps! works fantastically with so many terts, and adds a subtle but striking pattern. I adore the way it works with terts like stained and all of the belly genes, and there's some really neat interaction with some colors. and, despite its busyness, it works with other busy genes really well! not to mention all the great patterns and contrast it brings to the head, which on some poses is an area that's really difficult to make stand out.
