suprise! im not dead.
so here's some recent sketches and more that i havent posted since the last time i posted
these sketches are old ones seeing how i made these during and before my previous laptop went kaput due to a specific windows 11 update that bricked a buch of ssd drives, before i dive into a bit of a tech rant. artfight is coming up soon and i wanna spruce up all 6 of my ocs for it, and zenny's been on my mind to give her a redesign again again and these sketches explore story plotpoints i got for IdLS along with some potential haircut change for Zenny.
i wish i went thru with saving my art files but my dad's external hardrive barely had enough space for both my photos and music.
and seeing how i was in a bit of a manic state of losing a laptop my parents gifted me for my college work that was leagues better than my old laptop. after taking it to the local microcenter, they found out it was just a complete motherboard failure. so no real hope of saving it.
thankfully i worked out a different means of getting another laptop with friends, its about as powerful as the previous one but seeing how im adverse to playing most triple A games i should be fine now.
it did mean i lost a lot of artwork tho, some that i havent posted too. at least the important ones got uploaded to csp's cloud drive, so these are what you get to see today.
these sketches here is for a dream game i wanna make in the future thats a social sim inspired by persona but more woke than persona (jk).
i want it to center around Luna seeing how shes the link between both Zenny and Emi's story, along with Pumpkin and Rosa's story. and if i can work it out later, robo Luna could be the one keeping track and being friends with Zenny before Luna finds out that she's still alive after the incident.
either way i want it to be like a more fleshed out version of persona 3 portable game feel wise, where instead of a cursor you have a character physically there interacting with the world similar to any other top down games but more paper mario 2.5D adjacent or i guess more like pokemon rangers on the ds. or i guess its closer to stuff like final fantasy 7 or undertale seeing how i want it to be done in game maker.
i dont got much plans on developing it more rn but its something i wanna work on in the future as a passion project after i got enough experiencing making more games
of which leads into my college capstone class project, i got to make a game with a team!
it was rather messy seeing how me being an entirely online student caused the team a lot of desync on ideas and a lot of it was just me not being good at directing and coordinating the team. but the final product aint too shabby for my first game!
i got to make the player character which is an alternate take on what project life light's Amiee but now more fitted for this game's context, and animated the enemies for the game along with other art assets.
i wont really go too much further into the process since it was effectively making a game in 3 months with a team that weren't really that insync with each other, im really greatful that i manage to make a game with those wonderful folks tho.
just next time i'll want fuller transparancy and team members that are willing to poke into my ideas to be on the same wavelength as me. the initial idea of the project got watered down by a lot to make due with the time and team we got.
its a bit weird of me but i do wanna keep the game a little bit hidden so i'll be making it a wound about way of getting to the download page of the game thru an unlisted youtube video of an old playtest video.
and lastly, something completely out of context.
