LOST IN MARRIAGE [ Jackie & Raphael ]

Jacqueline Davis, no, Meyers, stared down at her wedding band . She was married now. To a stunning, successful man. A wealthy man, a talented man. He gave her everything she'd ever need. Yet; she couldn't help but look like she was in sorrow. Their wedding had been huge, like a fairytale. Just like Jackie had always envisioned her supposed dream day to be. She might of even managed to push her heartache at the back of her mind for a while. Enjoying the food, the music, engaged in that magical feeling. Didn't stop her from shedding tears at night though.
Raphael Meyers was a dream husband, according to all her peers. But she didn't love him, and yet here she sat, bearing his last name. Because it was a smart move. She owed her family that much. Her mother had insisted on it, tearing her down when the curly woman tried to argue that she shouldn't marry someone she didn't love. That marrying someone she only knew through fancy dinner parties and formal events, wasn't exactly the brightest idea. Her parents wanted to hear nothing of it and she accepted the proposale with a heavy heart.
Jackie hated the world she had been born into. A world full of corruption and schemes and alliances. She didn't even want to know how many lives her father had ruined to get to the amount of success he was at now. She hated it about him. Once she realized that her father, the man whom loved his daughter as if she was the most precious thing in the world; didn't give a fuck about anyone else; she wanted away.
She suspected that this man was of the same calibre. Maybe she could make him see the same as her? That wealth and power wasn't everything. Beside, he couldn't be that cruel, right? Her parents wouldn't marry her off to someone that didn't want to try at least, right?
"So, how was the meeting?" Jackie politely asked her husband as he came home from a meeting. She had moved into his house this week, following the wedding. She didn't even get to have her name on house.
