idkwntht | Tomberlin
Of the track, Sarah Beth Tomberlin says “‘idkwntht’ is a sonic altar of sorts. It’s about taking a moment for remembrance, clarity, and setting an intention for what is to come. Kind of like a song version of writing out your intentions on a full moon. holding onto feelings, words, and past versions of ourselves and our behavior only helps when we can examine experiences once we are outside of them. Then we have to let it out, let it go, and try again.”
i’m not tired i’m just wired for late nights staying up talking till the sun gets stuck back up in the sky reminding me i’m still alive

i don't know who needs to hear these demos... | Tomberlin
the first winter i experienced in new york was during covid. felix asked if they could record the new songs i'd been working on for my next record. i think these were recorded in 2020/2021? not sure. but i'd walk and walk and bike and train and end up at their old place in sunset park. we recorded these live in their room to tape. just single takes, voice and guitar at once. you can hear some different lyrics on some of these tracks as these were the initial versions. a sweet memory to me in an otherwise dismal time.
i asked felix if they'd send these to me last year as i kinda forgot they existed for a minute. it was emotional for me to hear the songs this way. our voices before tracks my nervous laughter after a take, there is sweetness in simplicity. i hope you enjoy these and thank you to felix for encouraging me in these early stages of the songs.
