Hello what is a selfhood ?
Hi hi, anony!
"Selfhood", overall, is simply an alternative term for an ID/highest kin; meaning that you see yourself as this kin at all times and it's part of your core sense of self. Honestly, this meme is a pretty good representation of it:
When it comes to my own selfhood, I have memories of many past lives as him and I believe I am him even now (said beliefs are both spiritual/metaphysical & psychological in nature), despite my current life not exactly mimicking that of my source. I'm him in flesh & soul! And I tend to be quite uncomfortable with "doubles" for this reason.
Now, I do separate myself in small ways to respect this new life as well (going by Martyn [last name] instead of Martin Blackwood, referring to myself in the podcast as a fictional character when talking about it as a creative work, etc), but at the end of the day I'm just me, and Martin Blackwood is at the core of that sense of self. That's why I use the term selfhood :-).
