    “You did? That sounds dangerous.”  Rei teased as she handed her son her cold ice tea with a soft giggle on her lips. Things were finally starting to look better for the two of them. The hospital was allowing her to take walks with her son for a few hours before she had to return back to her room so for once they took the chance to have a picnic inn the park. Who knew. Perhaps soon enough they’d finally allow her to go home with them this year. She giggled softly, the sound gentle and warm as she watched a few birds fly overhead of them. It was nice to spend some time with her youngest like this. He was always so busy with his hero work. This made up for it though.

trepidation sets nerves ablaze. todoroki is an inexorable force ; his abilities alter the elements in what seems to be leisurely ease, calling upon ice and fire as if he were doing something as menial as snapping his fingers. undeniable power emanates from him in a way that differs from her other peers. his influence is sobering --- todoroki is more stoic than the rest --- he, akin to a large ship coasting an infinite sea and ochako compares more to the small waves lapping against the sides of its vast structure, desperate to make any sort of impression.

battling with quirks is unlike the hand - to - hand combat she’s been so used to thus far. especially now when his quirk is intentionally keeping her at a distance so she’s unable to render him weightless ; it feels like she’s running a marathon that doesn’t have a finish - line anywhere in sight. ❛ ------ i’m not. ❜

she aims for conviction, however her declaration falls short between staggering breaths. her lungs feel as though someone’s got a tight grip around them, crumpling it like a paper ball and casting it aside on the ground at her feet. palms meet concrete, her fingers splaying open as a foundation to allow for her to push herself up from her hunched - over position on all - fours.
