‘ i’ll stop crying in a minute. ’ ikaros to helios
Emotional Starters || ACCEPTING;
Helios holds stedfast to the mug caught between his fingertips, loitering in the doorway and looking quite bewildered at the scene playing out before him. He was ancient, after all, and the flippancy of human emotion still caught him off guard. A heavy furrow sets about his brow, scanning the room for any offense that might have set the boy off. Finding no such disturbance, the room looking just as he had left it, he parted his lips in his confusion, looking all together puzzled.
“What has occurred in the time it took me to get to the kitchen and back? Is it that I have offended you?” He cannot recall anything that he had said that could have wounded his lover so, but it had happened before in his obliviousness and Apollo often chided him for being cruel in his ignorance. He settled down across from his, kneeling on the floor and set aside the mug to reach up and dust the callous of his thumbpad over Icarus’ jaw. Just as soon, he withdrew, wetting his tongue over his thumb, tasting the salt of his sorrow.
“I am…sorry, I should think. If you want me to be so.”
