They think back to a conversation they’d had ages ago with Rae. When they’d been planning the wedding with Rakai.

“You know what they say is kind of up to interpretation a lot of the time… but…”

Rae laughs softly “Mhm?”

They open the book again, fidgeting with the pages. “I guess I do kind of have to plan that wedding ad… do you… do you *want* to be my best.. man?” They ask, not quite looking him in the eye. The slight bleeding of the ink seems very interesting to them at the moment-

Rae leans into their vision just slightly, getting their attention again. He makes eye contact with them, expression softening slightly as he speaks.

“Of course I will.”

There’s silence after that, then Sherbert nods turning back around towards their chest so they don’t need to think about what that means.

“I don’t… I don’t know how to comprehend marriage-“ they smile when Rae laughs.

They watched with tears in their eyes as Isla walked their brother down the aisle.

They watched the ceremony trying so hard to keep their vision clear. (They couldn’t miss a second because their brothers smile was something they didn’t think they’d get to see in person again-)

They watched their best friend get married. Watched their families grow. And it *sucked.*

If nobody noticed the changing flowers that was alright. That was something they could keep for themself as a reminder.

(They watched the little girl with their brothers wonder pick up one of their flowers, calling it magic. If they cried for a few hours in the empty halls after that nobody would need to know that. If they cried when they watched their brother name his child after them -thinking they were dead so *young*- nobody needed to know that.)

Nobody needed to know why they changed flowers. Why they took that risk.

(Even when it was in case they were here long enough to start to forget. Nobody needed to know how much that *scared* them-)

But they didn’t want to think about that. They didn’t want to think about how long they’d been there. How much they’d missed.

That would only make it hurt more.

And if they didn’t think about it it wouldn’t hurt.

-They hear the irl world’s cars in the back of their head /hj

-His eyes aren’t used to the dimness of the fable world compared to the world port, so certain places in the world like the rural end or night in the overworld or parts of Elysium are pretty hard for them to see in

-They can faintly see auras around people in fable, but they’re not really accurate to realms like how Rae sees them, they’re just gold and kinda there

-Their eyes naturally became a darker yellow and their hair lightened a little (dirty blonde-ish) bc they’re spending more time in the natural sun

-Ick’s more open to going to the End now

-He’s got a little flock growing of everyone’s kids as they meet them. They take them on little group flights sometimes

-They got everyone to draw a different world port beam on their arm and kinda just gave whoever free rein to draw them

-The tips of their wings glow sometimes and they don’t really need as many rockets to fly with them compared to before

-I feel like Bruin probably eventually gave Ick natural wings
