Survive. It always was about survival. Even as the city has flourished in the past as a community, its people resilient in more ways than one, they still survive to make ends meet. Perhaps it's not as though they face dangers like wild pokemon on a daily basis, but to do their jobs, bring home their earnings, bring food & other necessities to the table for their loved ones. They all survive. Some simply have an easier time than others.
