"Adam was a sloppy and undisciplined commander. Like, what kind of shitty ass commander announces when and where they're going to attack?! Adam gave them half a year to plan defense and a counter attack. Literally gave away any chance of using suprise as a means to do more damage. On top of that, he attacks Lucifer's daughter on live television in Lucifer's kingdom, and didn't expect to get attacked. Not attacking The Royals and Hellborn was the one fucking thing keeping Lucifer, the actual Devil, Morningstar from doing anything...and he knew this.
Now onto his armor, or lack thereof. He wouldn't have died if he had a ounce of common sense in his head. He went into a battle wearing literally zero armor, save a very easily shattered helmet. Which would've saved him when he literally let his guard down to throw a hissy fit.
Or if he had a capable second in command. Had Lute not run off to fight Charlie's girlfriend and done her Goddamn job of watching Adam's back, he'd still be alive. Which honestly shows a lack of discipline and foresight on Adam's part, I'm willing to bet he never drilled it into Lute or any of their heads that they had to protect one another during Exterminations.
Which bit them in the ass more than once. Seven years and they left how much Angelic Steel laying around? Not once thinking that it could kill them. And now that all of Hell, and Heaven, knows that arch angels can be permanently killed with it that's a whole new can of worms that got opened up because of how shitty a commander Adam was.
