âŠwell, she should have known thereâd be no hiding it from another medic. Having lurched to a stop, RyĆ« turns around with a lip bitten sheepishly. âI, uhâŠâ Sigh. ââŠaboutâŠeight weeks or so.â
WhichâŠis obviously a huge problem. âJustâŠdonât, uhâŠdonâtâŠmention it to anyoneâŠ? ItâsâŠnot common knowledge.â She hasnât even worked up the nerve to tell Manami yet. Hands wring anxiously. The anxiety of Fugaku finding out is about to give her a premature heart attack. Once he finds out Itachiâs not only slept out of wedlock, but with someone whoâs not a blood UchihaâŠheads will roll.
ââŠI dunno what to do!â she finally blurts, facade quickly crumbling as she finds herself finally with an outlet. After all, thereâs almost no need for Rin to put two and two together: she knows who the second party is without a doubt. And as scared as RyĆ« might be, thereâs no one else - sheâs well-aware - who knows that near-exact scenario like Rin does. Sheâs got just as much reason, if not more, to be wary of the clan head.
ââŠI want to be excited, butâŠall I feel is scaredâŠ!â
Rin had hoped she might be wrong -- or that Ryuu was excited, because Rin herself was excited about her own pregnancy, and knowing that someone else she loved and cared for was going through the same thing? Was oddly reassuring.
But the way Ryuu had reacted was far from what she had hoped for -- more along the lines of what she had feared, her heart breaking the more Ryuu spoke, her hands reaching out to gently grasp Ryuu and pull her into a hug.
âI wonât tell anyone, but you should likely see a specialist soon, imouto. You need to try to be as calm as you can for yourself and the baby, okay? Right now is a tricky time for both of you, but I know you can do this, okay?â She gives Ryuu a smile, gently squeezing her as best as her own slowly growing belly would allow. âJust because weâre both medics, doesnât mean we know everything there is to know about life growing within. Thatâs why people specializeâ
She takes a breath before pulling away slightly, her hands reaching up to cup the sides of Ryuuâs face, thumbs gently rubbing over her cheeks. âIâm going to help you with Fugaku, okay? Weâll make this work, and...you love him, donât you?â
It was blatantly obvious that âhimâ was not Fugaku. But even in relative privacy, she wouldnât say the name aloud, doing her best to help keep Ryuu safe.
