“Alright, alright, here’s one for you. If you could live anywhere in the galaxy, where would you pick? The Normandy doesn’t count,” Kaidan asked, leaning forward to put his elbows on the table.

“Wait, why can’t Normandy count? I love that ship. I can live anywhere I want to when I’m on it,” Shepard replied after another sip of her glass of wine.

“Because it’s the Normandy, Shep. We already live there. It also belongs to the Alliance, so unless you plan on working for the rest of your life, you can’t live there forever.”

“Sure I could. It’s my ship. The Alliance can have it back when I’m dead.”

Kaidan rolled his eyes and chuckled. “Give me a real answer, Ell.”

She had to think about it for a minute before responding. It was a difficult decision. She’d seen so many planets, been exposed to so many different cultures, she wasn’t sure just one place would ever be enough for her. Besides, she didn’t really care where she was; it was more about who she was with.

“I don’t know, Kaidan… I guess I’d pick whatever planet you’re picking.”

He snorted impatiently. “Oh, come on, that’s cheating. You can’t just steal my answer. You don’t even know what I was going to pick!”

Shepard laughed softly, shaking her head. “I’m not stealing your answer, that’s different. I’m saying you’re my answer.”
