i think it's fine to allude to concepts the reader may have to further research on their own. i think it's reasonable to have them mention or be uncomfortable with certain things w/o making it Tragic, talk abt their feelings, drop things in convos--

yeah tragic is entirely what i want to avoid. like it’s literally just ‘this girl is a trans girl not cis’ so that ppl know and don’t have to say it’s headcanon/wait til extra info is published post-novel-writing. it looks like casual mentioning might work?? tbh i’ll probably just run the thing by some friends if i ever finish writing it (i think i saw it was called like a sensitivity reader or s/t??) see what comes out of that

stuff like this is hard, maybe find ways that it could casually come up in conversation as a passing comment were its not made into a big deal? or alternatively hav trans character/their friends correct someone who incorrectly assumes their identity

yeah the incorrect assumption thing would be SO handy but since this character is post-transition it’s harder for that to happen naturally in conversation? but the passing comment thing seems to be a consistent suggestion so i’ll try that somewhere in the story and see if it works!!
