When Blaine had called Kurt and told him what the Warblers were going to do that night, he'd accepted without a second thought, eager to spend as much time with Blaine as he could. But now he was a little worried- and surprised. The Warblers were usually so straight-laced, rule-abiding gentlemen that Kurt found it hard to accept that this was one of their traditions. 

So here they were, sneaking into the auditorium where they were set to perform the next day. Blaine tugged on Kurt's hand and they slipped past Wes onto the stage. It felt bigger somehow when it was dark and they could barely see except for the flashlights they'd brought.

The council was wandering around the stage, making random notes about placement and the rest of the Warblers were goofing off, as teenage boys were wont to do. Kurt and Blaine hung back a little, sneaking glances at each other every so often and blushing when they made eye contact. Wes turned around and announced in a stage whisper, "Alright boys, gather round."

All the Warblers sat down in a circle on the floor, Blaine pulling Kurt down to sit next to him and Kurt went easily, sitting down so that their shoulders and hips were touching. Blaine gave him a bashful smile and ducked his head as Wes began to talk again, "So, we didn't make it to Regionals last year but we have this year. I have a feeling we're going to do great you and I have a lot of faith in Kurt and Blaine to lead us into the performance.” He eyed them, “ You guys have been practicing, right?"

They both blushed and Blaine gave Kurt a sly grin before saying, "Yup. Practicing sounds right."

Wes gave him a weird look as Nick and Jeff snickered, "Right, well I'm sure it'll be great."

He continued with his pep talk and soon the conversation turned into mindless chatter. "I hope we do well tomorrow." Blaine said to Kurt.

"We'll do great." Kurt said, unable to be pessimistic when Blaine was looking at him with those huge hazel eyes, framed with lashes so long and thick-

"Yeah.” Blaine said, his mind seemed to be doing some wandering of its own and a smile tugged Kurt’s lips at the thought.

Soon, the rest of the Warblers began to get up and. Kurt was about to follow suit when Blaine turned to Wes and David, saying, "You guys go ahead, Kurt and I came in the same car anyway."

Wes and David didn't say anything but Nick and Jeff winked at them before linking arms and leaving them by themselves. Once the last footfalls had faded, Kurt turned to Blaine, "So? What are we still doing here, then?"

"Well," Blaine said, a blush rising on his cheeks, "I thought since we were going to be performing here tomorrow we could...practice."

Kurt smiled widely as Blaine moved so that they sat in front of each other, knees knocking, and he replied, "Practice, huh?"

Blaine shrugged, his grin just as big, "Well, it would be a shame to let an empty auditorium go to waste."

He leaned closer and Kurt mimicked his movement, saying softly, "Great acoustics, I bet."

Blaine's breathing was slightly uneven now and his gaze no longer met Kurt's but he didn't seem to notice-he was too busy staring at his lips as well. "I bet." He parroted and then paused a beat before leaning and pressing his lips against Kurt's

Kurt inhaled sharply before craning his neck to get closer and moving a hand to cup Blaine's waist. It started off as a sweet pressure of their mouths sliding against each other but soon moved into something more.

Kurt's tongue acted first, tentatively sweeping across the seam of Blaine's lips who granted him access immediately. Their tongues met and everything felt so much more intimate in that quiet auditorium, the only light brought on by the flashlight that lay uselessly at Blaine's side.

The dark made Kurt feel inexplicably bolder and he moved up onto his knees (it involved pulling back for a second- he wasn't that experienced yet) and cupped Blaine's face with both hands. He felt rather than heard Blaine make this sort of whimper and that was what made him pull back and say dazedly, "I think we should cool down."

Blaine looked disoriented when he nodded. Once his eyes weren’t as glazed over he glanced at Kurt, lips twitching mischievously, "Good practice."
