Your dear sis has been physically sick for the past 3 weeks, tried to push through it thinking “oh, it’s just a lil’ cold, I’ll get over it in a few days!” NOPE! What I thought was just a bit of the sniffles, turned out to be much worse. I started feeling pain in my chest every time I coughed, felt fatigued, losing my voice completely, having my head feel like a ballon and then some, but still went to work! The symptoms pushed me to see a doctor and of course get tested for that which will remain nameless on my page (I was NEGATIVE!) I got X-rays done to make sure that it wasn’t “walking pneumonia” (They didn’t see fluid in my lungs) only to find out that I had laryngitis, sinusitis and a severe respiratory infection. Smh 🤦🏽♀️ Ask me if I still tried going to work? Yep! knowing damn well I needed to sit my ass down somewhere, but I felt guilty for not going (IYDK I’m an educator so imagine the pressure when missing just one day!) and it made me realize that our society is so F’d up to have us thinking that we need to “hurry up and recover, so we can get back to work” instead of resting, relaxing and healing our bodies. It’s such a TRASH way of thinking wether you are a 9-5’er or entrepreneur! Sit yo ass down and take care of your mind, body and soul! I talk about this often, but it’s literally time to start putting this into practice! YOUR (mental, physical, emotional) HEALTH COMES FIRST AND FOREMOST! ** I don’t look like what I feel right now, but getting better.
