Hello! I saw your AMAZING Thranduil cosplay while searching through tumblr and I was wondering about the pattern and fabric you used for the outfit. I was hoping to cosplay as Thranduil this March, but I'm unsure of where to start in terms of making his "coat." Any advice you could give me, or tutorials you could direct me to would be great. I need to redirect your question to my lovely King Under the Mountain (farroner), who is mostly responsible of my cosplay. About the fabric I can tell that we hunted it a lot. It was really difficult to find anything suitable for this Elvenking but eventually I found this quite expensive curtain fabric that suited him better than anything meant for clothing, so I suggest to be open-minded while searching for the fabric. You might be surprised. I think my dwarf has few tutorials you could ask for but basically we modified a ready pattern for a women’s jacket and made it more Thranduil like. But she can tell you probably more about it. (We are also planning to redo it with lot more fabric so I can have longer hem.) I wish you a good luck. I have enjoyed so much complying this character and I hope you will feel the same. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
