Just a Game? Jane || Kat || Hazel || Frank
Jane was surprised when Percy told her and Kat to be part of the offense and go directly for the flag. Part of her wondered if it was a suicide mission, and Percy knew that. The other part of her figured Percy just had a plan he wanted to stick to. Why else would the guy put himself on defense?Â
But as Jane and Kat ran through the forest, the fighting campers paid them no attention. Why was it so easy? With her right hand, Jane grew a piece of ice until it was the length of a sword, and sharp as one too. She formed the end she was holding like a hilt. As a daughter of Khione, Jane figured having an ice sword made sense.Â
"Should it be this easy?" Jane asked, turning her head to look at Kat. Despite the situation, Jane couldn't help but notice how beautiful Kat looked. Even in battle armor, and a determined look on her face, Jane found it exotic. She resisted the urge to grab the other girl and kiss her, even with how badly she wanted to.Â
Somehow the two of them made it to the other's flag. Jane stopped behind a tree, signaling for Kat to hide with her. There were two guards, one probably a boy and the other a small-looking girl. Jane lifted her sword and moved toward the guards, ready for battle. She held her weapon to the larger guard, who seemed more like a threat. Then she saw his face, and her heart just about stopped. They'd just ran right into Frank Zhang.Â
