i hate the way people discuss platforms themselves as being bad as if the things people do that are bad on diff platforms dont just come down to human nature, though there are certain platform specific cultures that get established but anyway my point is just seeing an unaccredited post and treating it like its news without fact checking isnt unique to tiktok but it is weird how often people act like a tiktok video of some random person saying something is treated as real news. like who even is this guy. but even weirder i was reading a twitter thread earlier about the history of deoderant or whatever this morning and someone commented "someone tell me if this is all true or not before i go tell it to everyone on tiktok" like. ....... what? what the fuck is going through peoples minds? like literally? why would you just repeat some random historical thread you cant even be bothered to fact check. to what end!!!
