after reading through a lot of posts on tumblr, pinterest and other hellsites, i have come to discover that appearently people write things down and are.....done????
the concept of first drafts has confused me so much until i realized people only edit like. Once. or twice.
I edit around fiveteen times. Maybe...more.... And then i need to lay it down to let it stir, work on something else and after a couple of days i will revisit and carefully cut off some bits and maybe add something, just a pinch of sarcastic commentry here and dabble in one more fluffy detail, violently rip out a whole scene and gently lay it down to use it later and then replace it with something that’s twice as long, question my entire characterisation with all my life choices and write some small thoughts about the interior decisions for comedic purpose. Also fix like twenty mistakes that i somehow managed to overlook with the first fiveteen edits.
