#i can't stop...

follow up to this draw of my fan design for uma musume secretariat!

after reading into secretariat's career and seeing that his stable mate not only was the original savior of meadow stable where they were both raised, but was also a very accomplished horse in his own right, I couldn't just Not also draw up something for riva ridge. making uma musume designs on its own is super enjoyable already, but figuring out a new design with the same racing silks as another one puts on another layer of both challenge and fun. ヽ( ´▽`)ノ

(canon takes on horses with the same silks are super neat and are also a big inspiration here! if you haven't already, check out cheval grand and her sisters, and especially all the sunday racing club umas!)

Imagine all the different Lenas who could show up? Lena Danvers, and the evil Lena who finally makes Lillian proud, and the Lena who is an Amazon, and Lena that was recruited by the DEO instead of/in addition to Alex, and Lena Spheer or even Lena Lancaster, whose mother never died and she was never adopted by the Luthors...

I will concentrate on the One for All users here, because their “pass down the power to the next generation” really reminds me of the avatar reincarnation, so I’m especially fascinated. But look at this, guys:

Earth:

This, clearly, says Izuku for me. Not only does our favorite cinnamon roll fit the earthbending style’s colors green, but also because Izuku is not someone who bends and adjust like the waterbender, or is fierce like a firebender, or let’s go of earthly things like an airbender. Izuku pushes on relentlessly on his path, with his head through the wall if necessary. He stands strong no matter what he has to take or endure, is stubborn, and doesn’t budge an inch if he’s set on something.

Izuku would be an earthbender to me.

Air:

“Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly problems and concerns; finding peace and freedom was the key to solving their difficulties in life. […]

The key to airbending is flexibility and finding and following the path of least resistance. Airbending is notable for being almost purely defensive, as well as the most dynamic of the four bending arts.” (from the avatar.wiki)

This just screams Nana for me. I mean – Nana, who let her family go, gave her child away, bottled up her sadness over her husband’s death and kept going as a hero? Kept smiling? This seems really fitting for someone who “The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly problems“, don’t you think?

For me, Nana with her smile and her willingness to let go what she loved and put others before her would be like the epitome of the airbender.

Water:

“Water is the element of change.[…] The fighting style of waterbending is mostly fluid and graceful, acting in concert with the environment. […] Waterbenders deal with the flow of energy; they let their defense become their offense, turning their opponents' own forces against them. Even when waterbenders do take an attack stance, their moves always appear to flow from one to the other.” (from the avatar.wiki)  

Going from the fact that I picture Izuku as an earthbender, Toshinori would – according to the circle of avatar and elements – be a waterbender. I was a bit hesitant at first, since All Might’s bulkiness and stubbornness reminded me very strongly of Izuku and the earthbending style. But then I thought – Toshinori is not like his All Might-persona. Toshinori is all about blending in, fitting in, and being in touch with his environment, be it as a hero, as a teacher, or as a confidential person. He is used to changing – changes every time he switches from All Might and back again. And while All Might looks more like the guy who would use pure force, Toshinori with his personality and appearance would seem more like someone who would use the enemies’ force against them.

Also the healing part would something he would be really happy about, so I guess waterbending Toshinori wouldn’t even be that far off!
