Someone tell me why I am WAILING my eyes out at 2 in the fucking morning after rewatching Freya's episode. Someone tell me why they were ALLOWED to create such a beautiful connection and genuine understanding between them only to take her away from Merlin in the timespan of ONE episode. And someone tell me how do I REIGN HELL on Gaius for tattling to Uther about her when Merlin literally BEGGED him not to do so!!! Bonus if this hell takes Arthur too for being the one who killed her!
(ok maybe i don't mean that last part but I am so furious and I am crying and I don't know why this show is just always able to get me to wail my heart out when I usually can't)
Like. Merlin takes one look at Freya and immediately sees himself locked up for his magic just the same. He watches the very fate he runs from every day while living under Uther's rule. And for the first time he just allows his heart to lead the way; no fucking dragons or mentors breathing down his neck telling him what to do. He feels, for the very first time, the genuine meaning of love (not just duty or sacrifice) and boy was Merlin ready to abandon his whole destiny just to be understood.
