Suddenly, a taller lady started to speak in a calm manner: “Though I don't know how much information your subjects have brought to you, it's time to admit that things are getting worse.”

“Not much.” Her companion answered distantly. It was difficult to understand what exactly she was responding to but at least she was listening.

“War is nigh, Morrigan. Our universe has almost witnessed one of the last Instances calculated by Nous. The Theory of Four Apocalypses has become common knowledge and now—”

“—everyone are finally waking up.”

This abrupt interruption knocked the lady off her train of thoughts. Curly-haired one didn't even grace her with a small glance nonetheless her voice seemed to become more lively and engaged.

“Allow me to elaborate,” Morrigan continued. “In times like these, people tend to reconsider their worldview and believes which may eventually effect our universe on the different levels. Including conceptual. After all, Paths might depend on their followers more than one thinks. Can you see this?”

Another heavy sigh was lady's answer. She understood where Morrigan was heading to. However, she couldn't agree with her nor wholeheartedly confront her. “Acheron?” Morrigan slightly turned to her temporarily companion when silence became suffocating.

“My opinion hasn't changed since our last meeting.” Acheron started calmly. “There's no good in the Nihility. It is absurd and vast with only purpose to capture those who have lost their road. The powerless ones. The hopeless ones.” She glanced at Morrigan. Her eyes were still hidden behind her cloudlike hair but now Acheron could see her lips pressed together into a thin, even paler line. It felt familiar. Once again, she continued:

“Yet I can't deny that we both are doing our best to save our universe. Though I don't believe that one can cure or reconceptualize the Nihility, I'll keep my promise and let you, your people and other Doctors to do your doing. Ultimately, one of us should succeed. No matter will that be by my sword or by your quill.”

Morrigan still remained silent. This promise indeed was an ultimate win. However, for those whose only reason to keep going was to save the-one-beyond-saving – defying paradoxes with more paradoxes – it could be a question of life and death. Their own life and death. Morrigan was one of those people.

Some rumors says that Morrigan was a walking nonsense even before stepping into the Shadow. Perhaps this is why the paradoxal nature of the Nihility feels like home for her. Acheron actually spared a few seconds thinking about that until noticed a slight movement right next to her.

“The Chicken and The Egg dilemma.” Morrigan suddenly spoke, this time completely facing Acheron. “The Light and The Shadow. Entropy as part of the system. Entropy leading the system towards Nothingness. System living through the product's lifecycle. Nothingness leading the system towards Equilibrium. Entropy leading the universe towards Negentropy. The Paradox. Nothingness having an opinion and a voice. Another paradox.” For a brief moment, a pair of bright red eyes could be seen among the white hair. Glassy. Staring into nothingness. “Things are much more complicated than you think, dear sister.”

With the speed of the lightning, Acheron stepped aside from her so-called sister once again reaching for her sword. Morrigan froze for a second, then tilted her head and gave Acheron an apologetic smile. Surprisingly sincere one.

Unwilling to turn this into a mess, Acheron simply rested her hand on the hilt: “I look forward to know more. Perhaps we all will be enlightened one day, who knows?” Morrigan only nodded in agreement. After making a mental note to not engaging herself anymore with others Emanators of the Nihility, Acheron could finally take her leave.

“So why did you come here in the first place?” Morrigan asked her for the last time. “To remind us about the deadline?”
