Ok yes it's very clear now.
Captain Pikachu can fly. Holy cow I love Cap so much. He might also have Flying Tera Type.
It's so cool how they subtly showed it flying in HZ017 like, he seems to be able to control his air movement with the tail, it's really cool! Cannot gif examples atm but hnnngghgh this all makes me excited for next episode so so so so so much!
Liko getting asked if she ever thought about having a new Pokemon by Orio is definitely build up for a potential future catch in future episodes. Through watching Roy interact with Kaiden, Liko started to think that having more friends could be fun so I think it's going to come into play soon. The fact that they sowed the seeds of it in this episode is nice.
In the teaser for upcoming episodes, there was a scene with Liko smiling at a Mibrim so it seems like this is the Pokemon she will befriend and that will eventually join her. Mibrim is also apparently a Pokemon sensitive to other creatures' feelings and warms up to people with calm dispositions, which fits Liko.
And going back to being sensitive to others' feelings, this connects to scenes with Liko that I really liked in the episode. When the Brave Asagi was going through turbulence, Mollie immediately thinks of reassuring the Pokemon on the ship and asks Liko for help, to which she agrees (which is nice that Mollie and Liko keep bonding and that Liko learns from her!).
Liko is reassuring Pokemon on the ship and being gentle with them.
Actually, that scene reminded me of one of the earlier scenes with Liko in HZ002. When Amethio was chasing the ship through a storm and that Liko had no idea what kind of situation she was in, she was thinking about the Pokemon's feelings.
While she was also as worried as the Pokemon, she was still trying to reassure them as much as she could, considering their wellbeing and feeling guilty for getting them caught in the crossfire.
In fact, one of the first things that made Liko that Friede and the others might not be bad people in HZ002 was that she noticed that the Pokemon on the ship seemed relaxed and happy. So if they felt at ease there, it meant that the Rising Volt Tacklers were treating them well.
I just like that Liko being sensitive to others' feelings has been displayed several times now. She was deeply touched by Colza's sculpture of Oliva and could feel sadness through his art. In Oliva's case too, she couldn't leave it alone after seeing it feel so sad and wanted to help rebuild the forest. It's not just Pokemon too, Liko has been caring towards Dot's feelings for example. During the picnic episode, she wanted to respect Dot's feelings above all. So if Dot didn't feel like being a picnic with them whatever the reasons she had, she wasn't going to force her to come out. Liko treasured Dot's feelings and reached out to her in a way that respected those.
Either way, I really like these scenes with Liko a lot, so if the first Pokemon she catches really ends up being a Mibrim, I think it'd be fitting given how they are both attuned to others' feelings. So it'd be interesting to see how a partnership could grow based on that.
Y'know, one scene in next week's ep has me going like, another relatablility trait achieved with Liko, like, this scene here:
THIS is a reaction of someone who just recently learned they unknowingly befriended THE person they are a big fan of and now feel awkward around them due to the fact and I like. This is SUCH a relatable feeling, for me and I bet for many, I'm sure things will calm down by the end of the episode but like, I'm glad to see this kind of reaction to befriending someone famous explored. And I hope it gets done well, like Dot or someone reminding Liko that she's just another human being and no need to be akward around her now like she wasn't before either :D
Like srsly Liko keeps on being more and more relatable to me and she's just, hnnnnnngh!!!
Roy I feel is quite fitting for him too, assuming he's learned it too. He seems the type who wouldn't mind if their friend was a big time video maker or a Champion or anything. While remember how Liko reacted to realizing who Nemona is? And how Roy was? I guess it could be Roy who reminds Liko of who Dot really is: a friend.
Excited to see next week.
Oh btw I was right, Liko is now struggling to talk to or be in the room with Dot now that she knows she's Gurumin, like holy feck this is relatable asfkjhskfjhfskj. I'm not actually sure if Roy knows it too or is casual about it because Liko did note to Roy that they shouldn't disturb her "because she must be busy with Gurumin stuff" (Liko you absolute dumb dumb lying to yourself you're just now awkward around your fav streamer now) like aslfjfslksfkf. What I WASN'T right about was that, it didn't get solved here lol. And idk how long this awkwardness will last. But I'm sure it won't be dragged on too long, Horizons doesn't do that. So far at least.

I kind of like the idea that Cap will grow more and more serious and serves as a test for Liko and Roy. Like, how they fare against Cap will be indicative of their progress throughout the story. Also, Roy didn't ask Friede for a battle but directly asked Cap. Cap is, well, the captain and seems more independent (and Friede consults him for opinions), but I can't help but wonder if Friede actually "offically" caught him since we've never seen Cap in a Pokeball as far as I remember. We'll probably have the answer in HZ018.
Either way, Roy's idea for training was a fun one (propelling Hogator and Kaiden in the air, Hogator using Ember to go upwards and give Kaiden a chance to catch strong winds that way). He knocked off Cap's hat but they still have a long way to go.
Dot let Liko and Roy enter her room for the first time! Liko was still embarassed at the thought of interacting with Dot now that she knows she is Gurumin, while Roy didn't get why she was so jumpy. I wonder if Liko's embarassment will still last a bit in future episodes or if it'll settle soon.
Either way, Liko noticed that Kaiden caught the strong winds during the turbulence (she is observant), and that it was probably the reason why Spark was much stronger than during the battle against Cap. Roy wants to replicate the strength of the move, so he thinks of asking Dot for advice. Dot points out that it might be difficult since Kaiden has a bit of a hard time flying so there is a limit to the wind power it could get by running. But she does give Roy the idea that if Kaiden leapt from somewhere high up, it could help catch strong winds. I like how they're all helping each other here. Liko's initial observation is completed by Dot's advice. I wonder if Dot will give Liko and Roy more advice in the future since she knows a lot of things.
I kind of appreciate that the training episodes so far showcase different reasons to train and battle. The first training with Cap in HZ007 was about being more observant of one's surroundings and Pokemon during a battle and knowing the timing to attack. This one shows that battles can be stress relief for the Pokemon and also a way for them to deepen bonds. So it's not always the same thing.
Kaiden seemed interested in Cap's moves since they are both Electric types, which is a neat way to reinforce the similarities between Roy and Friede's Pokemon (and how they're intentional, too, since Roy looks up to Friede just as much as Hogator and Kaiden do with Lizardon and Cap). Roy and his Pokemon faced off against Cap but they didn't manage to land a hit on him.
Little detail I liked is Roy using his Rotom Dex to know the name of the move Kaiden used (which was Spark). It's cool that he is actually using the Pokedex for things other than looking up a Pokemon he doesn't know.
